How to Refill Paintball Tanks: If you’re looking for ways to save money, then you might want to consider refilling your own paintball tanks. In this article, we’ll go over the ins and outs of refilling your own paintball tanks. From what materials you’ll need to how easy it is, we’ve got you covered in this comprehensive guide!
Materials needed for refilling your own paintball tank – How to Refill Paintball Tanks
If you are looking to save some money by refilling your own paintball tank rather than going to an expensive paintball field, you’ll need to make sure you have the proper materials. You’ll need to buy a paintball tank, purchase CO2, get a paintball gun, and get paintballs. Here are the items you’ll need: Your own paintball tank, specifically the 500 gal capacity tank
Co2 cartridges, typically you’ll receive a pack of 12 ounces
A small, paintball gun, for each of the guns you buy
Paintball disposal, specifically a Mr. Pop-Top
A (large) paintball bag to hold the tank and paintballs When you get home, you’re going to need some new paint for your tank (I recommend 3 coats for a dark color and 1 coat for a light color), a paintball for your gun, and a small paintball tray to put the paintballs into when you are done.
Electric Paintball guns are expensive ($50–80 each), and using a paintball gun isn’t much better but still cheaper than buying the paint for that can span multiple walls and multiple rooms.
Weaning off the smell of paint is a great, albeit more subtle, way to save money. Heating a small area and dipping sponge balls into the liquid to minimize the smell and capillaries in the walls will help in this case.
To do this, simply use a small paint wand or airbrush and paint in these areas with the sponge balls and minimize the wafting paint. Once you are done, open the umbrella and you will have a beautiful, fresh-smelling paintball field. If you decide against using the smell to help in the next step, topping off the tank with soap and water can do the trick. Also, add a bucket to the tank and fill it with water to prevent mold.
The cost of a paintball gun Refilling paint using paintball guns isn’t too bad. At the gas station, you can find paintballs for less than $5 each.
How to refill paintball tanks:
There are two ways to refill your paintball tank. The first involves using a paintball tank adapter connected to a CO2 tank. The adapter screws into your tank and the CO2 tank attaches to the adapter. You can then turn the tank upside down and insert the adapter into the tank opening.
The second possible method would be to buy a new paintball tank and then install the tank adapter into the tank. (Money saved here!) If you are planning on using the latter option, make sure your current paintball tank matches the size of the air intake of your paintball guns before you buy a new one.
If your paintballs don’t come in one size, you’ll need a paintball holder (which fits tanks up to 15-gallons) and the appropriate paintball. If you buy a new paintball tank, make sure the air hole in your tank matches the one in your gun’s air hole.
Different tank air options – How to Refill Paintball Tanks
Whether you are using the adapter to refill a paintball tank or using the same tank to refill a separate paintball gun, there are a few options you’ll need to do.
Whether you are using a paintball tank exclusively or the same tank for multiple guns, be sure to clear the air out of the tank before using your gun. You don’t need to always do this right away, but doing it periodically is necessary to ensure proper gun operation.
- Have the right paintball gun
What size paintball gun do you use? If your current gun is older than 5 years old, make sure it’s compatible with more recent paintball guns.
